Why is roulette called the devil's game?

You may have heard that roulette is sometimes called the devil's game. Well, this can be said for all sorts of gambling, but applies specifically to roulette. So why is roulette called the devil's game? Well, when you add up all of the numbers on the roulette wheel the end result is 666. In the bible, this number is referred to as the number of the beast. Who knows, maybe the devil did have something to do with the invention of the roulette wheel, bringing hell to many unlucky players across the world.
