What is a Courtesy Line Bet?

The Courtesy Line bet in American roulette is a split bet on the numbers 0 and 00. This is common in land-based casinos where, oftentimes, there are up to 10 players crowded around one roulette table, and for each to place his chips on the required area, such as 0 and 00. In this case, the Courtesy Line bet settles it, wherein players will make a split bet on 0 and 00 by betting on the line which separates the "2nd 12" and "3rd 12" areas of the table layout.
