How Many Wagers Can You Place in a Game of Roulette?

Author: Andrew Shepard

In roulette, you're not restricted by the number of wagers you can place per round—the only thing limiting you is the table’s betting rules. Depending on the casino, the maximum or minimum bets can vary, but here's how many different types of bets you can place:

  1. Straight-up bets: 37 wagers on single numbers.
  2. Split bets: 60 wagers covering two adjacent numbers.
  3. Street bets: 12 wagers covering three numbers in a row.
  4. Corner bets: 23 wagers covering four numbers.
  5. Six-line bets: 12 wagers covering two rows of numbers.
  6. Column bets: 3 wagers covering an entire column of 12 numbers.
  7. Dozen bets: 3 wagers covering a set of 12 numbers.
  8. Even-money bets: 1 wager on even numbers.
  9. Odd bets: 1 wager on odd numbers.
  10. Red bets: 1 wager on red numbers.
  11. Black bets: 1 wager on black numbers.
  12. High bets: 1 wager on numbers from 19 to 36.
  13. Low bets: 1 wager on numbers from 1 to 18.

In total, you can make up to 156 bets in a single round. Even if you bet AUS 1.5 on each, you'd be placing a serious AUS 234 on the table. The best possible win? AUS 36, which can only happen if the numbers 14, 17, 20, or 23 show up, as they’re involved in the most bets. The likelihood of this happening is only 10.81%—so don’t expect to hit that jackpot too often.
