How Does a 2-to-1 Bet Work in Roulette?

When you look at a roulette table, you’ll notice three areas labelled "2 to 1."

These indicate column bets, an outside bet covering 12 numbers in a vertical line. For example, the middle column includes numbers 2, 5, 8, 11, etc.

This bet gives you a 32.4% chance of winning in American version. The payout is 2:1, meaning if you bet 10 AUD, you win 20 AUD plus your original 10 AUD. It's a popular option because it reasonably balances risk and reward.
